There are two kinds of travelers.
Some collect passport stamps. Others collect stories.
I’m firmly in the second group.
Welcome to Little Bird Travels, a place for curious travelers who believe the best moments rarely appear on the front of a postcard. This is where we’ll wander down quiet alleyways, linger over coffee in hidden cafés, discover museums that tour buses skip, and occasionally find ourselves halfway across Cairo looking for the perfect yarn shop. (Yes, that actually happened. And yes, it was absolutely worth it.)
Travel has taught me that the most memorable experiences often begin with a simple question: What happens if I go just a little farther?
Sometimes that leads to standing in awe beneath the Great Pyramid before the crowds arrive. Sometimes it’s watching rain drift across the mountains from an airplane window. Sometimes it’s sharing tea with someone whose language you barely speak but whose kindness needs no translation.
Those are the moments I hope to share here.
Why “Little Bird”?
Birds have always fascinated me. They travel incredible distances, adapt wherever they land, and somehow always seem to know exactly where they’re going. I may not always have their sense of direction, but I love their curiosity.
Little Bird Travels is about exploring the world with that same spirit—lightly, openly, and always looking for the next beautiful discovery.
My Travel Style
If I had to describe my travel philosophy in three words, they would be:
Curious. Intentional. Unexpected.
You’ll rarely find me rushing through ten attractions in one day. I’d rather spend an afternoon wandering a neighborhood, chatting with locals, discovering an artisan’s workshop, or finding the tiny restaurant that never makes the guidebooks.
I love what I think of as quiet luxury; experiences that feel special because they’re authentic, thoughtful, and deeply connected to a place rather than simply expensive.
A Few Fun Facts About Me
- Egypt completely captured my heart, and I suspect you’ll notice that in many of my stories.
- I’ve been known to cross an entire city just to visit an unusual yarn store.
- I believe every destination has at least one hidden gem that’s better than its most famous attraction.
- I’m equally happy exploring ancient temples, wandering botanical gardens, or sitting in a café watching the world go by.
- When I’m not traveling, you’ll probably find me reading, speaking at Toastmasters, or crocheting.
